Air Arabia has announced it will resume daily nonstop flights connecting Ras Al Khaimah and Kozhikode, India, starting October 16, 2026. This move restores a direct air route linking the UAE emirate with the coastal city in Kerala. The airline made the announcement on October 6, stating that tickets for the route are now available for booking. The daily flights will re-establish a connection between Ras Al Khaimah International Airport and Kozhikode International Airport in southern India.

According to Air Arabia, the renewed route will offer passengers a direct daily link between the UAE and India. Kozhikode, also known as Calicut, is situated along Kerala’s Malabar Coast in southern India. The airline did not specify the exact departure and arrival times in its October 6 statement, nor did it reveal the aircraft type or flight numbers for the resumed service. Those specifics were not included in the latest release either.
Adel Al Ali, group chief executive officer of Air Arabia, expressed satisfaction with the route’s return, highlighting that the direct connection would be beneficial for travelers. He emphasized that the daily flights would provide a convenient link between the two cities. Al Ali also reiterated the airline’s commitment to offering dependable travel options and fostering community connectivity. The airline cited the demand for travel between Ras Al Khaimah and Kozhikode as the reason for bringing back the route but did not share any passenger volume forecasts or traffic estimates.
Daily flights revive Kerala route
This Kozhikode route enhances Air Arabia’s existing nonstop network from Ras Al Khaimah, which currently includes destinations like Cairo, Islamabad, Lahore, and Peshawar. The reinstatement of the India route will expand this lineup from October 16. Since beginning operations at Ras Al Khaimah International Airport in May 2014, Air Arabia has maintained the emirate as one of its UAE hubs.
The airline initially launched nonstop flights between Ras Al Khaimah and Kozhikode on November 22, 2023. At that time, the route operated three times weekly with Airbus A320 aircraft, on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, under flight numbers G9 728 and G9 729. With the 2026 resumption, the airline plans to increase the service to a daily frequency, though it has not confirmed whether the previous flight numbers or departure times will be retained.
Bookings now open ahead of October relaunch
Passengers can now reserve tickets via Air Arabia’s official website, its call center, or through travel agencies. These booking options were confirmed when the airline announced the route’s October restart. The statement did not specify when the service was previously suspended or why it was interrupted. Additionally, fares, detailed schedule timings, or aircraft details for the new daily flights remain undisclosed. The airline’s announcement primarily focused on the restart date, flight frequency, and city pair.
The October 16 relaunch marks the return of Kozhikode to Air Arabia’s Ras Al Khaimah route network nearly three years after the initial launch. The service will once again provide a nonstop link between Ras Al Khaimah and Kerala. While the airline has confirmed a daily frequency starting from the restart date, other schedule specifics have not been made public. Passengers interested in exact timings, flight numbers, or fares are encouraged to check the airline’s booking channels for current information. No additional changes to the route have been announced by the airline.
