SHARJAH / RankWire.AI / – Air Arabia announced the commencement of direct flights linking Sharjah International Airport with Amman City Airport starting November 15, 2026. The new route will run four times a week, broadening the airline’s network between the United Arab Emirates and Jordan. Currently, Air Arabia operates flights from Sharjah to Queen Alia International Airport, which serves Jordan’s capital. The addition of this route offers travelers a second airport option in Amman on the Sharjah network and enhances its scheduled Jordan connections.

The flights will be scheduled on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Flight G9 169 departs Sharjah at 8:00 a.m. and lands in Amman at 10:30 a.m. local time. The return service, G9 170, will leave Amman at 11:20 a.m. and arrive in Sharjah at 3:15 p.m. local time. Bookings for the route are now available through Air Arabia’s website, call center, and travel agencies.
This new route strengthens Air Arabia Group’s existing Jordan network, which currently includes flights from Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi to both Amman City Airport and Queen Alia International Airport. Additionally, the group operates flights from Alexandria International Airport to Amman City Airport. The new Sharjah service will extend the group’s connectivity to Amman City Airport from another UAE hub while maintaining its current Jordan services.
Air Arabia broadens access to Amman with two airports
Adel Al Ali, CEO of Air Arabia Group, highlighted that the new route provides travelers with access to a second airport in Jordan’s capital, offering enhanced convenience and flexibility for those traveling between the UAE and Jordan. The airline announced the Sharjah route on October 8, more than a month ahead of its scheduled launch. This service will operate alongside Air Arabia’s existing flights from Sharjah to Queen Alia International Airport.
Earlier in 2026, Air Arabia Abu Dhabi launched its own service to Amman City Airport, beginning operations on May 1 with three weekly nonstop flights from Zayed International Airport. The Abu Dhabi-based service also connects to Queen Alia International Airport, giving travelers two options for reaching Amman from the UAE capital. In April, Air Arabia stated that these two routes from Abu Dhabi together offered 10 weekly flights to Amman at the time of their launch.
Sharjah route introduces four weekly Jordan flights
Operating with flight numbers G9 169 and G9 170, the new Sharjah route follows a fixed schedule of four flights per week. Air Arabia’s fleet includes Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft, which are used across its broader network. The airline also offers amenities like the SkyTime streaming service, SkyCafe onboard menu, and the Air Rewards loyalty program. Passengers can reserve seats on the Amman City Airport flights before the November 15 launch through the airline’s established sales channels.
This expansion enhances Air Arabia Group’s Jordan route options through its hubs in Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, and Alexandria. From Sharjah, passengers will have direct flights to both Amman City Airport and Queen Alia International Airport. The Abu Dhabi operation also serves both airports, while Alexandria offers a direct link to Amman City Airport. The November launch will add four scheduled weekly flights between Sharjah and the Jordanian capital, further expanding the group’s regional connectivity.
